In January of 2024, the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Compliance Division conducted an investigation into Tavaras Lamar Harris. During this investigation, it was found that Tavaras Lamar Harris violated his conditions of the sex offender registry by being on the premises of Albemarle High School. Tavaras Lamar Harris was charged with sex offender on school premises and received a $3,000 secured bond.

Rowan Sheriff’s project tracks whereabouts of every registered sex offender in county
ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) - Rowan County Sheriff Travis Allen recently initiated a project to check the whereabouts of every registered sex offender living in Rowan County. Currently, there are approximately 430 registered sex offenders living in Rowan County. Of those offenders, some are homeless, some live at a residence, assisted living facilities, or in the county detention center.
